In 2017 FiberNext worked with Axiom Technologies of Machias ME to tackle a challenging FTTH implementation on an island off the coast of Maine. The system was municipally owned, so the budgets were limited to the point of not allowing for "traditional" FTTH designs. The phrases "how about we do this?" and "why don't we do that?" were thrown back and forth many times until we created a solution that both fit the budget and exceeded the needs. Some called us crazy but poles are set, fiber is hung, and dozens of homes on the island are enjoying over 100MB synchronous Ethernet right to their doorsteps!
FiberNext has just completed the cable plant design for Axiom for their next island project. We look forward to another successful island deployment this summer!
